A view of Florence on the climb up to Michaelangelo Plaza in Florence. Too bad it was cloudy for most of our stay! It seems like the sun only comes out on Sundays in Italy.

Tuscany
February 22-26: Florence and Pisa
At the top of Brunelleschi's Duomo, looking down on the bell tower. (We're in Florence's Santa Maria del Fiore Basilica).
The elegant outside of Florence's big church. We went up to the top of that dome! On the way up, there was a balcony right around the bottom of the inside of the dome, so we were right under the enormous painting by Vasari andd Zuccari, which covered the whole interior of the huge dome. It was so huge and magnificent!

Look out, Jeff! It looks like this tower has had its last lean! It is really quite amazing that the Leaning Tower of Pisa can stand--it tilted so far!
The tip tip top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa--we just couldn't bring ourselves to waste 15 euros apiece just to climb a few stairs, so we enjoyed the view from the ground.
