Jay has loved Star Wars for two and a half years now. The flame is still burning as brightly as ever. Of course Rose likes Star Wars by default. Jay builds Star Wars ships out of blocks and Legos. He lines up all of his whiteguys and strong boys (made of blocks). He hums the theme song.
Millennium Falcon A: note Han and Luke each in their seats in front of the big guns.
Millennium Falcon B: I donated the Brie cheese box.
Millennium Falcon B, opened up
Jay still plays with this old 2-dimensional cardboard Millennium Falcon that I drew for him. I’ve had to repair it with tape twice.
A few times each week, Jay asks me to look up Star Wars toys on Amazon, where he gets new ideas of how to build yet more ships out of his beloved blocks and Legos. He positively drools over this Millennium Falcon. (ahem, ho ho ho…)
A “walker” from the snowy Star Wars planet. Jeff and I helped him build two of these. He refuses to destroy them, so there have been less big Legos to play with for the past few weeks.
Remember this? [October 2012] Sniff. They were so little!
Today Jay dug out what was left of last year’s Luke and Leia Halloween costumes:
We revived the old costumes as best we could. Rose’s old Leia dress was ripped and too small long ago, so we substituted one of my white t-shirts, inside out. Jay wore the same shirt and pants he wore last year. The shirt fits him much better and the pants have been cut into shorts since then. I can hardly believe how much they’ve grown in one year.
This year …and last year
This year …and last year
I thought Rose’s bunny slippers were a nice touch.
