Weekly Words

My words for this week consist of captions for 25 pictures:

We love our wild, carefree Amby!

On Monday, I ran up Lincoln Grade in Prosser again and got Thai food afterwards. I felt tired all week after this run, but it was a good run.

Pad Woo San: a new Thai favorite.

Amber likes to pick handfuls of dandelions to distribute among the girls cross country team. They are very sweet and always accept Amber's floral offerings.

What is it about little girls in braids?

Amber liked her braids so much on Monday that she asked to have braids again on Tuesday for school--surprising for a girl who detests having her hair done. The rest of the week she had online school, though, so she didn't wear anything in her hair at all.

Amby before school, feeling cute and pretty in her self-accessorized outfit and darling double braids.

Rose the author finished writing her first book this week and began typing the 11 chapter story.

Family prayer at the White house often includes an extra son or two. We love our neighbors, Ian and Tanner!

The poop trucks were out in full fragrant fertilizing force during my run on Wednesday morning.

More fertilizer rumbling past.

Minecraft fest with four friends: six kids crowded into our tiny computer room. I couldn't get all of the kids into one picture, but a warm stuffy cocktail of several adolescent aromas wafted around the room.

Jay decided to eat his rice with a serving spoon one night.

My Wool.& 100 day dress challenge is still going strong! I'm more than a quarter of the way there!

Amber has been very interested in drawing castles this week.

Fluffy March sky on Cemetery Road.

Reading an old favorite, The Giant's Toe. Generally I haven't had much energy or motherly goodwill to spare lately for story-reading, but Amber caught me at the right moment one night with one of my favorite books.

That makeup kit birthday gift from Grama Leslie still has powder left nearly five months later. Somehow.

Rose and Amber like to take turns doing each other's makeup, which usually devolves into full-face war paint.

For cross country practice on Friday, instead of running, we went on a team walk through downtown Sunnyside. We stopped twice to do a little yoga. It was a fun change of pace. We love this team!

Team walk, part 2.

On Saturday morning after a brief cross country practice, Jeff and I went on a 3 mile run with Jay. It was sunny and happy and pleasant to jog along together along the country roads near our house.

Saturday afternoon was so mellow and sunny, I swung on our rope swing for a few arcs before retiring to my front porch rocking chair to bask by bones in that sunshine.
Life is tiring, but also good.
