Amber got baptized!

Amber was baptized today! It was a sweet beautiful special joyful moment. I will write more about it soon. For now, here are a few preview pictures of our sweet spunky 8 year old being her natural free-spirited self. We are currently working on reading a kids version of the Book of Mormon together, and before her baptism I wanted some pictures of her holding the Book of Mormon. We had a five-minute front-yard cell-phone photo shoot on Friday, November 11th. After a brief standing pose, Amber was done with boring stand-still-and-smile tradition. She marched over to our rope swing and gave me some of my favorite ever Amber pictures as I chased her back and forth with my phone, taking pictures while she swung. I sure love my Amby girl. She has filled my life to the brim since before she was born.

"Read me a verse," I said. She opened the book at random and laboriously read a long verse with lots of very confusing unrecognizable names in it, refusing to give up till she invented/sounded her way out to the bitter end of the verse. I love her concentrating face.

I love and admire Amber's joie de vivre. She is intense and sweet, rough and gentle, social and shy, inquisitive and intelligent, sassy and thoughtful. She lives big and loves big. In every situation, Amber is unapologetically her true self, from her clothing choices to her chosen activities to her photo poses, and everything in between. I'm so happy that the gospel is part of her true self and that she chose to get baptized!
