36 Hours at Home

When we got home from our trip to Virginia and Pennsylvania, we had almost exactly 36 hours at home before our next trip: we got home at 1am on Friday morning (June 26th) and left again at 1pm on Saturday afternoon (June 27th). The next trip was to Denver for the Brown family reunion. But before  that, let's talk about our 36 hours at home. It was productive.

Piano hug: 9 days was the second longest I've ever spent away from my piano baby, and it was good to be reunited.

What we accomplished during our 36 hours at home:

  • Ran 8.5 miles (Shaina)-12 miles (Jeff and Jay) with the cross country team.
  • Mowed our 2.5 acre lawn: Jay and Rose (about 3 hours of mowing)
  • Mowed along the driveway out to the mailbox and around the fruit trees (about an hour and a half of mowing): Shaina
  • Went to a chiropractor appointment: Shaina
  • Drove to the eye doctor in Grandview to pick up her new glasses: Shaina and Amber
  • Played the piano for 1 hour and 40 minutes: Shaina
  • Replace a carbon filter in the well pump house: Jeff
  • Unpacking, LAUNDRY and re-packing: everyone

New glasses! We tried the newly approved (expensive) Stellest lenses which are supposed to reduce the progression of myopia in kids under age 12. Hopefully they help! Amber's prescription jumps up every time we go to the eye doctor!

My flowers survived! Which means the drip line worked! What a relief.

The blueberries, strawberries, tomatoes, and cabbage also survived!

A pumpkin sprouted! I haven't planted seeds in the ground in a very long time. I was way more excited than I expected to be when I saw this cute little sprout peeking up.

Back on a plane 36 hours later. An extra kudos goes to Jeff's dad, Dan, for driving us to and from the airport so many times.

On to the next adventure!
