We are FIVE!

That’s right, folks. Jeff and I have been married for 5 years and one day. Yesterday was our anniversary. I love Christmas weddings! The cold frosty air, sparkly Christmas lights, and extra-cheery spirit is the perfect atmosphere for a wedding. And it’s even better for an anniversary!

As Jeff so wisely stated,

ANNIVERSARIES ARE SO MUCH BETTER THAN WEDDINGS!

I could write a huge long list of reasons to support this statement, but I’d rather not spend all night typing it. Suffice it to say that we love our anniversary. It’s fun to have an excuse to get a little mooshy (in our goofy way). We had a charming little anniversary celebration together.

When I woke up on December 20th, our bathroom  mirror had a few love notes on it. (don’t you wish you had such awesome Christmas jammies?) As usual, Jeff left at 5:30am for work, but he left this happy message behind. I LOVE little surprises like hidden notes and things, so this made me JOYFUL.

I hid 5 heart notes in all of Jeff’s pockets for him to find on our day. (he found 3 without my help).

Then after dinner, sweet Steph babysat the children while Jeff and I went on our date. It was a 45 minute date: We bundled up, walked to Dairy Queen, and shared a candy cane blizzard (highly recommend those). Then we walked to a local café to warm up with some hot chocolate. Unfortunately, the café was closed, so we just had to power walk home through the freezing mist to warm up instead. It was so nice to just walk around town holding hands and talking. We’ve always liked going on walks, and it is extra-nice now to have a few quiet minutes alone together, without all the distractions that are at home (ahem JayandRose).

I love my husband. He’s the best. It’s been a wonderful 5 years. Once again, I could go on, but we’d all be better off if I just told Jeff all those happy, smushy, loving words instead of writing `em up here.

Oh, and this wouldn’t be a real anniversary post without a few stock wedding pictures…
