Shivering in my PJs on the porch

Totally worth it this morning.

Ever since I “came back to life,” I have felt pretty exhausted when Jay and Rose trot in to wake me up around 6:15am. Most days we have had pajama parties where Mommy lays in bed like limp spinach and kiddies climb and jump all over her. While talking with my dear friend yesterday, I decided that it is finally TIME to “start every day on purpose”—I’m not a wimpy recovering invalid any more!

So I set my alarm for 6am this morning and was awake reading my scriptures when the cuties pitter-pattered down the hall at 6:30. I think they really liked having a living mother before 7am. I know I liked being up before them. I was still in my PJs with crazy bedhead, but I was UP! Even though it’s hard to get up so early, I like starting my day with a little quiet time to myself to pray and read and prepare myself mentally and spiritually for the new day. This morning I was also rewarded with a flaming sphere of a sunrise too.

PS: that awful net is strung up between the houses and the high school soccer field, and it is the bane of my photographical endeavors. Luckily it is mostly fallen down behind our fence, but there’s still that ugly wire in the way marring the beauty of the sky. I should learn how to Photoshop it out. But then we’d have to buy Photoshop…

You were up much earlier than me this morning! I need to get back on the bandwagon of starting early rather than snatching every last minute of sleep I can. Being up earlier than the kiddos really DOES make the day go better - WAY TO GO!

That's a good idea...plus there is something inspiring about seeing the sun rise!
