(or should we say Monsieur White?)
Jeff got a JOB!!!!!!!!!!! After over a year of lengthy searches, laborious applications, and too many rejections, Jeff has been hired as a FRENCH teacher at Sunnyside High School.
HURAAAAHHHHHH!!
YIPPEEEEEE!!!!!
WAHOOOOOOOO!!!
HORRAYYYYY!
We’re excited.
THE CONTRACT. Isn’t that a beautiful phrase? “…offers you this intent for employment.” mmmmm. Yes I covered the salary. It just seemed weird to have it all out there. Not that it’s a secret. I can’t explain it. Whatever. JOB!!!! YAY!!!!
You may notice that it says Jeff will be a .67 French Teacher. No, this job is not full-time at the moment. It’s 2/3 full-time (which is better than half, like he was at the community college). They are trying to make it full-time for him this school year by giving Jeff some English or History classes to teach along with French I. They’re still working on it, so we don’t know for sure yet. However, the other French teacher will move on next school year, so Jeff WILL be full-time then.
When we moved to Washington 2 years ago, Jeff’s plan was to get his M.A.T. and teach French. Then the college told him that it would be faster/cheaper/easier to certify in history, so he did that instead. No luck on the job front. Then last month he took matters into his own hands and passed the Praxis test in French and English (passed with FLYING COLORS, Jeff-style of course). And sha-pow, French job!!!!
I’ve been DYING to post this splendid news for more than a week, but we thought it would be prudent to wait till Jeff had signed The Contract before plastering the news all over the internet. Jeff was offered the job over the phone on Thursday, July 14th—the day we were all super-sick. It was sort of anticlimactic in a way because we were too sick to jump around and celebrate! But I still felt/feel completely happy, grateful, blessed, and relieved.
I would post a video of us dancing for joy, but as Sir Percival Blakeney would say, dancing never was our forte.
JEFF HAS A JOB!
