Shaw Nature Reserve

Our first outing during our week in Missouri was to our favorite Shaw Nature Reserve, which is only ten minutes from my sister's house. We had a leisurely morning talking and hanging out (with a run for me), and ended up eating lunch before heading over to Shaw. Missouri is moody in the springtime, but we did not let that stop us!

Seven kids, running wild and free.

But first, AmyJane introduced Amber to the fine art of eyeshadowing. They took turns painting each other's eyelids. Amber tried branching out to AJ's forehead, but AJ would not allow it.

All fancied up and ready for the park!

First, LUNCH on the patio.

Pictures from Shaw Nature Reserve:

It rained a little while we were there, but thankfully Em had a couple of umbrellas stashed in her trunk, pro wedding photographer that she is.

Our crew is growing up before our very eyes!

Even us old moms had to climb the fun logs.

Watching videos of themselves jumping off of the log.

Reflections!

Daffodils.

Jay climbed out in that tree over the water...his head is barely visible through the branches.

Requisite cousin picture. (Sweet AJ and Amber held hands!)

Black and white mutes the kids' haphazard outfits nicely.

Running back to the car.

We spent the rest of the rainy day snuggled up watching shows (adults), movies (kids), and playing video games (kids).

Yay for relaxing cousin time!

(and my lowest blog post word count in months!)
