Saturdays in December are the best! We do fun Christmasy things together, and it’s such a cozy happy feeling. This week we went to Bill’s Berry Farm for their holiday donuts: vanilla sugar. Hot and melt-in-your-mouth, they were the perfect recovery treat after my Saturday morning 5 miler.
They always make such quaint photo spots at Bills:
Imagine this printed off, with Merry Christmas scrawled across the top. Or maybe it would be stuck inside a card with a letter telling you about our year. Now you know what our family Christmas cards might look like…if I made them. One of these years I’ll track down everyone’s addresses and mail out cute Christmas cards, but for now I’m keeping it digital. It doesn’t mean I love you less, trust me.
One more reason to love Bill’s.
And then, during the 10 minute drive home from the farm:
zzzzz…note the fine dusting of donut-sugar on her lips. When we pulled into the garage she woke up, and her first word was “mow?” (more donut).
While Jay monopolized Jeff on Saturday afternoon, I turned on some Christmas music and finished making, wrapping, and boxing up the Christmas presents that need to be mailed this week. I LOVE it when a good gift idea turns out better than I expected. Christmas is going to ROCK! Then Rose and I made cookies. Well, she left after about 5 minutes to go see what Jay and Jeff were up to, but we started out making them together. After dinner we watched one of the best Christmas shows EVER of all TIME: The Muppet Family Christmas, downloaded from YouTube in Christmases past. I’m telling you—the more Muppets, the merrier.

Loved that sign. Common sense in a lot of places would be appreciated!
