Happy 12/12/12! Before 10am today:
Jay pushed Rose off of the coffee table.
Rose dumped an entire water bottle onto the couch.
I folded a mountain of laundry while defending it from being trampled by 2 kids.
Jay bashed Rose's head into the wall.
Rose pooped twice.
I had to unload the dishwasher.
It's cloudy.
12/12/12 is determined to defeat me, but I WILL WIN!
It’s been a rough one so far, but I’m determined not to let this so-called doomsday get the better of me. Next subject…
We made faux-gingerbread houses for family night this week. Jeff and Jay vs. Shaina and Rose. Since it was too confusing to explain to Jay that we were using graham crackers as fake gingerbread and all of that, Jay just called them graham cracker houses. Sounds good to me.
Jay and Rose kept eating all the decorations and licking the nasty Crisco-sugar frosting, so it took a while to get the structures sufficiently decorated.
Jay made his a manger scene—even though this was not a very true-meaning-of-Christmas activity, he turned it into one. Baby Jesus is that yellow jelly bean laying in the snow on the right. I said he must be cold laying in the snow, and Jay said “he’s not cold because he has a blanket on, Mommy.” So matter of fact. Of course.
Rose and I loaded our house down with heavy decorations.
It started to lean…
…and finally collapsed. I think ours fell for two reasons: heavy roofing materials and a little Rose-monster poking at it constantly before it had a chance to dry.
Champion!
Here’s a video of Jay talking about what we do on Christmas. It’s always interesting to hear what he has to say. The video is kind of long, but I don’t know how to edit/cut parts out of it. Rose is in the background saying “marshmallow, marshmallow.” They love marshmallows—yesterday both kids chose marshmallows over a cookie after lunch. I chose two cookies.

LOL. "I'm a little person" Jay is cute. I love Rose's ALL lips smile.
